Trove Meetup and Hack Day
Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, CA
Join a team of developers from Twilio, Seesmic, Yahoo! Developers Network, Pivotal Labs, a couple ex-Google folks and a bunch-o-startups this weekend for a six-hour hackathon for trove, the solution to your API hell.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. we’ll ply you with free food/snacks/drinks/cheer while you build apps that will shape the future of moving and sharing content across the web.
Sponsored by Twilio and Citizen Space.
What is trove and why do I care?
The way the world of development works now: Instead of focusing on building and maintaining your app, you waste more time mucking about with ever-changing (and more) APIs.
The way the world should be: You focus your time on what’s important to you and let trove do the rest.
Coming to this Hackathon means you’ll get to take ownership of where we take this technology – and you’ll get to build some cool shit in a day.
Basics of the Hackathon
After a quick and dirty demo of how trove works and how you can build apps for it, we’ll break out into teams and start work on, well, whatever we want to build. The nature of trove, however, means that your team’s app will be able to mashup with your neighbors’ work.
We’ll supply you with free WiFi, food, drinks, snacks, and networking with some top devs in the Bay Area. Only thing you need is your laptop.
Right now there are Python, Ruby, and HTTP APIs for trove. If you’re looking for a PHP, ObjC, or some other bindings, swing by and let us know so we can build what you want!
Trove itself is built in Python/Django.
